Last Night's Viewing Selection

30 Days of Night
7 out of 10
Not as bad as everyone said it was going to be. There was a serious degree of violence and blood in this movie, akin to the remake of the Hills Have Eyes but without any mutant rape. The vampires were interesting, Russians maybe, who were kind of like vampire bat zombies rather than you're traditional vampires. There were a lot of holes in the story, but I really didn't go to see this movie with expectations of getting a really involved plot. I was honestly a little queasy by the end of the movie, something about people loosing hands always gets me. I would suggest seeing this movie in a theater you know will have 1. a digital projector 2. really good surround sound 3. cold as hell.

30 Days of Night Trailer

A League of Ordinary Gentlemen
7 out of 10
This documentary follows the not so fantastic lives of bowlers. It's true they're all ordinary but nothing about them is interesting in even a mundane way. The twist and turns of the PBA was interesting though, especially when introducing the Nike Exec. that they hire to fix it. The initial scene where he's introduced is in a gym; this guy must be at least 240 and is benching an equal amount even though he's in his 50s. It's also pleasant to hear him cuss so freely around bowlers who generally say "Gosh darn". Even bowling's bad boy Pete Webber can't compete with that sailor's mouth. Overall, it's an interesting look into the revitalization of bowling and a sometimes sad depiction of the life of a professional bowler.

Man-Thing
4 out of 10
Oh, lord. I have no idea where to start with Man-Thing except it almost immediately started a debate between my friends as to whether Man-Thing or Swamp Thing came first. After the movie we could agree on was that Swamp Thing is definitely more interesting. There's really no point in getting into the plot or any rational explanations for decisions made in this film. Imagine Swamp Thing in Florida. NO! Myrtle Beach and you start to touch on Man-Thing. The film felt like it was made for the Sci-Fi Channel, and had a not so subversive way of explaining who's a good guy and who's a bad guy. Now, I'm all for Nature Vs Man, so much so that if the film were made by Hertzog I'd be delighted. However, even if I drove a Hummer and agreed with all of Bush's environmental policies I would still root on Man-Thing for killing the entire cast of actors in this movie. The acting with the exception of the lead actor, The Sheriff, the cast couldn't decide if they were from New Orleans, the Everglades, or in the case of the environmentalist 3rd grade love interest teacher, Australia.

At the end of the day, I did watch this whole movie, and really enjoyed a lot of the look and feel of it. Although, everything that isn't a Thing, especially the humans, are less than desirable.

ROB NEEDS OUR HELP!

Hey guys,

This is kind of a big favor, but I need all of you to sign up for FAN accounts at FAMECAST.COM so you can vote for big Rob Wetherington. I can't tell you exactly how much I love this man because there are no known numbers that go that high. Furthermore, there is no one voting...period.

What does that mean? It means if only 20 of you sign up and vote for Robert he's pretty much going to get a free trip to Austin. Furthermore, if enough of you vote for him he'll get $10,000.00 dollars US cash! AND IF THAT HAPPPENS, he'll definately throw the biggest party on earth in Austin.

This is a serious favor I need from all of you, if you do just for me I'll throw you a damn party.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Register for a FAN ACCOUNT at Famecast by clicking here
  2. Confirm your account, which won't get your email address sold, you won't get spam, etc.
  3. Go to Rob's video by clicking here and vote for his video
  4. Rob and myself will love you forever

Here's a brief example of our love:

Please please please friends, I can't thank you enough for your help.

Love,
Will
